Moulana Muhammad Ilyas Patel is a highly regarded South African Islamic scholar and spiritual guide based in Isipingo Beach, Durban. He is the younger brother of the late Hazrat Maulana Yunus Patel and serves as the Vice Principal of Madrasah Taleemuddeen, where he is a senior lecturer of Hadith, specifically teaching Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim. He is a Khalifah (authorized representative) of the late world-renowned spiritual master Hazrat Maulana Hakeem Muhammad Akhtar Saheb, and he is widely recognized for his work in Tasawwuf (spiritual reformation). In addition to his academic roles, he is a prominent member of the Jamiatul Ulama KZN, having served as its President, and he continues to lead spiritual gatherings (Majalis) and provide guidance on contemporary social and ethical issues through various platforms, including Al-Haadi.
